Indications:

•Treatment of pain and fever in adults and adolescents

Mechanism of action:

Gelofen ® is a soft gelatin capsule of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) that acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and cyclooxygenase 1 and 2.

Pharmacokinetics:

After absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, this drug is metabolized by the liver and excreted in urine and feces.

The correct amount and method of consumption:

The dose of this drug is determined by the doctor based on the patient's age and it is mandatory to follow the doctor's instructions. The following information describes the therapeutic dose of the drug.

Treatment of pain and fever in adults and adolescents and treatment of dysmenorrhea: 200 to 400 mg every 4 to 6 hours.

Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis: 1200 to 3200 mg daily, used in 3 or 4 divided doses. The dose can be reduced if symptoms improve.

The maximum dose in adults and adolescents is 3200 mg daily.

To reduce gastrointestinal side effects, take the drug with food and a glass of water.

Contraindication:

Do not take this medicine if you have a history of allergies to ibuprofen.
