Loratagel 10 mg

Loratadine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Loratadine is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, hives, skin rash, itching, and other cold or allergy symptoms. Loratadine is also used to treat skin hives and itching in people with chronic skin reactions.

Mechanism of action:

Loratadine, the active ingredient in Loratadine Tablets, is a tricyclic antihistamine with selective, peripheral H1-receptor activity.

Directions for Use:

Adults and children 6 years of age and older: 10mg once daily

Doses are usually lower for people with liver problems.

Loratadine is not suitable for some people. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:

- Have had an allergy to loratadine or any other medicines in the past

- Have severe liver failure

- Are booked to have an allergy test – taking loratadine may affect the results so you might need to stop taking it a few days before the test

- Take anticholinergic or other Antihistamine drugs

Warning:

* It is best not to drink alcohol while you're taking loratadine as it can make you feel sleepy.

* Take your forgotten dose as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

* Swallow ordinary loratadine tablets with a drink of water, milk or juice.

Side effects:

Like all medicines, cetirizine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Feeling sleepy and tired, headaches, dry mouth, feeling sick (nausea), feeling dizzy, stomach pain, diarrhea, sore throat, cold-like symptoms of the nose, itching or a rash, tingling in your hands, and feet feeling agitated.

Interaction with other medicinal products:

Some medicines and loratadine interfere with each other and increase the chances of you having side effects.

amiodarone, cimetidine, erythromycin, ketoconazole, midodrine, ritonavir, any medicine that makes you feel sleepy, gives you a dry mouth or makes it difficult for you to pee. Taking loratadine might make these side effects worse.

Keep in a dry place & Store below 25°C.
